How To Add A New Wick To A Candle

I have several fat candles in alpine 8" glass jars, with dainty glass lids. They are now used to about half-way down the jar. How can I add a new wick, or get all the candle out of the jar so I can use it for something else??

Attempt putting a candle in the freezer overnight. The cold should cause the wax to contract from the sides of the jar.
The easiest manner, that I know of, to remove a left-over candle from a container is to put a few ice cubes on summit of the left-over candle, wait a little while, and when the candle "pulls away" from the container, slide information technology out. If the top of the container is smaller than the rest of it, use a knife to cut the wax into size pieces that tin be "dumped out."

You could always cook the wax, put in a new long wick and the wax from the two candles will give y'all a full jar candle to reuse over again. Hullo from South East Minnesota. I didn't think Minneapolis was considered in the northern part of the country.
- Minneapolis? Where did I say that? - Ah - I see. Information technology'south taking that from my ISP or something. I live northwest of Hibbing, south of Large Fork. Truly northern..........and a touch colder!! Thank you, Nancy, for the response! How do I cook the wax and put in a new wick?? (The jar/vase is virtually 2" wide and I can't go my fingers/hand into it. The wax is down about 3" into the thing).... I'd like to exercise that, because the candle is scented and I'd use it all if I could........
Put the jar into a pan with water, rut the pan and the jar at the aforementioned time so that it doesn't break the glass. It should melt the wax for you. You can get the candle wick anywhere you tin can get candle supplies. Put a drop of wax in the bottom to hold the wick and holder downwards and a pencil to agree the wick to a higher place the jar. Then y'all pour in the wax to fill the jar. If you cook downwards both at the aforementioned time, you can just pour in both to make one equally full as you desire. Just picket when you handle the jar to cascade the wax, it is hot and you want to protect your easily from the hot jar and the hot wax. I hope this helps, whatsoever other questions, just inquire!
